Adelaide Airport

How do I get from the airport to the Conference venue?

The Adelaide Convention Centre is just 7km from the Airport, with public transport and the taxi ramp on their doorstep.

  • Adelaide Metro Bus – If you wish to use public transport to/ from Adelaide Airport, Adelaide Metro offers an express double decker bus service called JetExpress between the airport and the city.
  • Shuttle Bus – Airport City Shuttle offers a Door to Door service from Adelaide Airport to Adelaide Hotels, Businesses and covering all suburbs if booked in advance. Group discounts are available. On arrival please make your way to the Information and Tourism Bookings Booth located on the ground floor of the terminal in a central location and a City Shuttle driver will meet you.   • Taxis are a convenient way to get to and from the airport. There is a designated taxi rank located at the left of the pedestrian plaza as you walk out of the terminal. Concierges provide a safe environment and allocate taxis to passengers.

Banking Hours

Banking hours in Adelaide are: 9.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday, 9.30am-5pm Friday. Most banks provide convenient automatic teller machines. Foreign currency exchange is available during trading hours.

Climate

In spring (September to November) South Australia is awash with colour and wildlife flourishes. Average daily spring temperatures in Adelaide range from a minimum of 11.6°C to a maximum of 21.7°C.

Shopping Hours

Trading hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 11am-5pm. There’s late night shopping in Adelaide city stores every Friday until 9pm, and at Adelaide suburban stores every Thursday until 9pm. Trading hours on public holidays may be limited. Trading hours vary in country areas, with many larger stores opened extensively, seven days a week.

Visitor Information

The South Australian Visitor Information Centre (108 North Terrace, Adelaide) is located in the city centre opposite the Adelaide Convention Centre and close to the Adelaide Casino and hotel precinct with regular tram access. Information is available on all regions of South Australia, provided by knowledgeable tourism staff, offering advice on what to see and do around Adelaide and South Australia.

Talk to an Adelaide City Council City ambassador for tourism information or directions. They are dressed in green and rove the city’s core retail area around Rundle Mall providing free information and advice to visitors.

Public Transport

Public transport buses – known as the JetBus service – pick up and drop off from the new bus stop location, left hand side of the plaza as you leave the terminal. Click here for map.JetBus services travel to and from the city, Glenelg and the north-eastern suburbs.All JetBuses are Metroticket services. Single trip and daytrip tickets can be purchased from bus drivers.

A taxi rank, is located left of the pedestrian plaza as you walk out of the Adelaide Airport domestic terminal. Concierges provide a safe environment and allocate taxis to passengers.There is a $2 levy added to fares for taxis leaving the airport.

Where is the conference venue?

Conference will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, located at: North Terrace, Adelaide, SA 5000

Is there security at the conference?

The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.

Will there be internet/WI-FI available at the conference venue?

Basic wifi will be provided to all delegates whilst onsite at the conference.

What is the dress code for the conference?

Smart Casual Business attire is suitable for the Conference.

Where do I register on the day?

The conference registration desk is located at Ground Level Foyer M&N.

What is included in my registration?

Full Registration attendance at the ARPS Forum on 18 November, and ICRP Symposium from 19-21 November 2019.
Full registration also includes a satchel, name badge, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments and one ticket to the Welcome Reception, one ticket to the Symposium Awards Dinner on Tuesday 19/11/2019

Day Registration includes attendance at sessions on the nominated day of attendance, a satchel, name badge, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments on the day of attendance.
Day registration does not include tickets to the Welcome Reception or the Symposium Awards Dinner. Tickets to the social functions must be purchased separately.

What food is included in my registration?

Full Registration: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided throughout the conference. All food at each social function is included, if you are attending.

Day Registration: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided only for the day you have registered.

Complimentary Tea, coffee, water and mints are available during the conference.

How will I know if there have been any changes to the program?

Any changes to the conference program will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning during the first plenary session. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk.

I have special dietary requirements – what do I do?

You must advise the conference managers of any special dietary requirements when you register for the conference. Caterers at each function will be informed of these. During the day, there will be a buffet table offering food suitable for dietary requirements. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask staff at the registration desk.

IMPORTANT – If your dietary request relates to a life-threatening allergy, please ensure that you advise the organisers as soon as possible.

How do I book my accommodation?

How do I pay for my accommodation?

If you have booked your accommodation when you registered, your credit card details have been transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check in with your hotel.

The hotel will request payment on check in. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have forfeited your deposit.

If you will not be paying with your own credit card, and need to arrange payment before you arrive, the best way is via a credit card authorisation form enabling the hotel to process a third-party card. To do so, please contact the hotel you selected and they will organise with you to receive a form for you to fill out and fax, email, or bring on arrival.

I would like to change or cancel my accommodation booking?

Please email Nicole Lu to cancel or change your accommodation prior to the Conference. If you need to cancel your accommodation booking within 30 days of your arrival date any cancellation fees will be subject to the hotel cancellation policy. Therefore, no accommodation refund can be guaranteed within 30 business days of the Conference. If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, charges will apply.

Can I photograph or record the conference sessions?

Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker; Conference Managers. A professional photographer will be at the conference, if you have any issues with being photographed please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.

Will copies of the presentations be available after the conference?

Presentations will be available on the conference website following the conference. Speakers will be requested to sign a release form. This is not compulsory, and only presentations with approval will be published.

I am a speaker, what should I do?

Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you when you register. All presentations need to be 16:9 in ratio.

All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers Preparation Desk at least four hours prior to their scheduled presentation time, to upload their presentation.

Speakers are also requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of the session if possible, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio-visual equipment. A technician will be present in the room at all times. There will be facilities to test and modify your presentation if required.

During the break prior to your session, it is highly recommended that speakers go to their room and introduce themselves to the chairperson of their session. Each chairperson will be in their room at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the session.
You can also check that your presentation is working correctly with the AV technician in the room.
